Ron Mbakwe

Chartered Financial Planner

At work

Ron is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. He also holds a degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Kent.

Ron has been working in financial services since 2013, initially as a Personal Banker at a major high street bank before moving on to a Paraplanner role and is now currently training towards becoming a Financial Planner.

The reasons that Ron chose financial planning as a career is simply because he is fascinated by finance and he enjoys helping people. He is passionate about the use of lifestyle financial planning to assist individuals in discovering their goals and also achieving them.

Despite attaining the highest qualifications possible in the profession and specialising in pensions and cash flow modelling, Ron’s strongest feature is explaining complex financial concepts in a way that is simple to understand without the use of jargon.

Ron firmly believes that the client should be at the heart of everything we do. He believes the move towards greater transparency in financial services is a step in the right direction but that there is still work to do to get to a place where lifestyle financial planning and evidence-based investing become more widely adopted.

Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning

Pension Transfer Specialist

Certificate in Life & Pensions

Award in Long Term Care Insurance

At home

Away from work, Ron is happily married to Tola and also has a young son who keeps him on his toes. Family time is super important in the Mbakwe household and this can come in the form of annual trips to the USA to see Tola’s family or long walks through the park together. Ultimately, creating great memories together with his family is what drives Ron.

Ron attends Jubilee Church London in Enfield every Sunday with his family and also volunteers at the North Enfield Foodbank run by his church.

Ron is a long-suffering (in recent times) Manchester United fan despite being born and raised in London (‘like most other United fans’, he says). He still plays football regularly, even though he may not be quite as quick as he once was!
